ADDIS ABAB – Chair of the African Union Committee (AUC), Mahmoud Youssouf Ali, praised Canada’s continued support for Africa’s permanent representation on the UN Security Council (UNSC).
The chairman discussed with the Vice Minister of Canada and the G7 and individual representatives of Cindy Theme Shuizen.
They exchanged opinions on the Au-Canada partnership and cooperation.
The discussion also focuses on regional peace and security, sustainable funding for peacekeeping in Africa, and how to best align the priorities of Canada’s G7 presidency with the African Union’s strategic agenda.
The chairman welcomed Canada’s continued support for Africa’s permanent representation on the UN Security Council.

The two leaders emphasized the importance of tackling digital disparities to strengthen trade relations, deepen technology partnerships and promote development.
