Alabama’s father, Jacob Couch, passed away almost two weeks after being attacked at a bus stop by a hatchet-wielding maniac who nearly cut off his head in the middle of the day!
The 32-year-old died Thursday night after taking life support at University Medical Center Tucson after a horrific attack in Tucson, Arizona, police confirmed. His sister-in-law, Erika Sims, told Kgun 9 news that he developed pneumonia and his mind was developed.
His wife, Kristen Couch, remembered him by sharing some of those throwback photos on Friday, noting heartbreakingly that she thought there would be “more” years together.
Officers say Daniel Michael attacked Jacob on the morning of April 5th, sitting at a bus stop in Tucson with his wife, returning to his Alabama home.
Kristen and Jacob lamented the birth of their son’s 2024 stillborn birth when the attack occurred after spending 10 months in Los Angeles. The couple already had two daughters from a previous relationship.
Kristen said that she and Jacob, who were together for 11 years, moved to Los Angeles to help them grieve their losses by moving to Los Angeles. “It wasn’t. That was what we were back home.”
Daniel was taken to police custody and charged with aggravated assault with originally dangerous measures, causing serious physical injuries. Police have modified his charges to first-degree murder.
Daniel is currently being held at Pima County Adult Detention Center on Saturday mornings on a $2 million bond.
Jacob was 32 years old.
