Amy Lou Wood gets the satire…but the recent joke about her on “Saturday Night Live” has been clearly stabbed.
The actress overwhelmed a parody of the long-standing comedy show of “The White Lotus” called “The White Potus”…
Waiting for permission to load Tiktok posts.
Icymi … depicts various politicians – Robert F. Kennedy Jr., secretary of Jon Hamm Playing Health and Human Services, is shown to be dating a timber-based character.
Check out the clip… Cast member Sarah Sherman wears a huge fake teeth — she openly says she’s tired of the discussion in an interview — and openly says she’s putting on a bad British accent for her sketches.
The shaman character cracks about not knowing what the fluoride is when Ham’s Kennedy says he wants it from drinking water… another shot of the wooden teeth.
The audience can hear them laughing at the joke, but Wood didn’t laugh together… calling the sketch “mean and unfair,” she felt “right” at the time, but admits that she might later delete the post.
Amy compares the meanness of “Saturday Night Live” to the support she received on HBO… To fans, HBO executives didn’t want to cast her, but ultimately surrenders to “White Lotus” creator Mike White, but nothing worth it.
Later via IG, Amy received an apology from “Saturday Night Live”…but did not further explain or say whether she was willing to accept it. To our knowledge, “SNL” has not issued a public apology.
Amy didn’t enjoy the clip, but it’s clear that Walton Goggins, who is rumoured to counter with her on-screen partner Wood, thought the sketch was hilarious… “Hahahahahahaha, wrote in an Instagram comment.
It appears Amy is moving further from the situation…but don’t expect her in studio 8H anytime soon.
I contacted “Saturday Night Live” for comments… so far, there are no words.
