College baseball player arrested for assault… police say he beat an old man at a bar

The college baseball player is said to have ambushed an old man at a California bar and knocked hell out of him during a drunken argument caught in video.
Law enforcement sources say TMZ … 21-year-old Owen Hayes reportedly had a fierce conflict with an 84-year-old man in the Santa Clarita Dive Bar, and tensions quickly became violent.
Check out the video of the incident that occurred around 1:25am on February 28th. It was obtained by TMZ… It starts with one man arguing with an elderly customer, and another man stepping into the room between them. The video is then cut by another man (ascribed to Hayes) and rushes behind the victim to knock him to the floor. The elderly gentleman was reportedly knocked unconscious and hospitalized, but fortunately he was not seriously injured.
When people try to calm the situation, massive disruption occurs.
Our sources say officers were able to identify Hayes who surrendered to authorities at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Monday morning.
Hayes was booked on felony assault charges. Hayes was held on $50,000 bail.
Owen Hayes plays baseball at Master College in Santa Clarita… We contacted the university and declined to comment on the investigation.
