Mikel Arteta said the best team lost after Arsenal crashed from the Champions League semi-finals.
Paris Saint-Germain completed a 3-1 victory with goals from Fabian Lewis and Achulaf Hakimi on Tuesday night, completing the 3-1 overall victory, opening the final against Inter Milan in Munich on May 31.
Gunners quickly started in the French capital as PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma produced two fine saves from Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard within the opening ten minutes.

Donalma also made an excellent fingertip save to reject Bukayo Saka before missing the 69 minute handball penalty by Myles Lewis-Skelly awarded in the VAR review.
Saka ultimately found the net in 76 minutes, but the comforting goal proved to be a comforting goal as Arsenal failed to reach his second Champions League final and faced the fifth consecutive season without a trophy.
After the match, Arteta said: [than Arsenal] In the competition from what I saw, we are out. We think it’s more obvious in both games. However, this competition is about the box, with both boxes usually having a striker and a goalkeeper, and he was the best player in both games. ”
Promoting whether that means that the best team lost their tie with PSG, Arteta replied. “I think so, especially for 160 minutes.
“It gives me so much pride, but at the same time I’m so angry that I’m frustrated because we didn’t do it. [at the end]. ”

Arteta’s rival manager, Luis Enrique, was asked about his post-match evaluation, but he opposed it with respect to his fellow countrymen.
“Mikel Arteta is a great friend, but I don’t agree at all. [that Arsenal deserved to win]“They love playing and playing the way they want, but with two legs we scored more goals than they did, and that’s the most important thing.
“Arsenal played a great game and we struggled with a lot, but we deserve to reach the final.”
Midfielder Declan Rice, who had a wide early header sale for Donnarumma’s post, said Arsenal’s early goal could rock the tie.
“If you get one of them probably in the first 15 or 20 minutes, the game changes completely above that head,” the English midfielder said. “And then two mistakes from us, two goals for them. And obviously, it felt like it wasn’t intended because there was something we might have missed.”
Arsenal has currently not made any progress from each of the last four Major Cup semi-finals (2020-21 Europa League, 2021-22 Carabao Cup, 2024-25 Carabao Cup, 2024-25 Champions League).
They have also been in pain in two Premier League title battles against Manchester City over the past two seasons, but Rice said those set-offs would make them stronger.
“I think you need to lose a few people to win. And you have to overcome the set-offs, grow mentally, grow as a person and as a group,” Rice said. “We’re growing as a team, as people, we need to keep pushing and believing.”
