
Dr. Mary J. Trotter, assistant professor of music at Arkansas Institute of Technology, will be part of a world premiere of a series of musical compositions inspired by the first women in the United States.
The performance of “East Wing Songs Volume III” will be held on Sunday, October 6th at 3pm at Presbyterian Church of Christ in Canton, Ohio. The Trotter will feature Dr. Sarahaus, a music faculty member at Southwest Baptist University (Missouri), and Dr. Soprano. The set was composed by Jenni Brandon.

Trotter joined ATU faculty in the fall of 2022. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Whitworth University, a Master of Music from the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University, and a PhD in Music from the University of Minnesota.
She teaches piano courses and music introductions for the ATU Music Bureau. Originally from Snohomish, Washington, Trotter served as a pianist for the state, regional and national American Choral Directors Association and the National Association of Singing Events.
Trotter has published her work at institutions such as Yale University, Colorado State University, Northern Arizona University, University of Wisconsin Clare University, St. Thomas University, Gonzaga University, and Southwest Baptist University.
She gave multiple performances for the recipients of the lecture entitled “I too am America: Friendship and Collaboration between Margaret Bond and Langston Hughes.”
Trotter was voted 2023-24 ATU Professor of the Year by a student body vote.
