Benson Boone was rocking “Bohemian Rhapsody” despite Brian May’s seemingly unvigorated on stage…this makes sense. This is because the actual guitarist was replaced by cardboard cutouts.
The singer-songwriter appeared on Coachella stage on Friday night for the weekend of the year 2nd, and he again performed a hit queen song for the loud crowd.
Boone sang “I sometimes hope I’ve never been born,” but he pulled out a May cutout… While the real guitarist was playing the famous solo, Boone really pretended it was May Shredding.
He later picked up the cutout and used it like a prop on stage – slide it past the backup singer. He even tried to put it down… but the wind kept knocking on it.

Boone later revealed that Brian really wanted to play with him again… but he couldn’t stick to weekend 2, so Boone and his team came up with a playful idea as respect.
As you know… Brian joined Benson last week and praised BB, who appears to guide the late Freddie Mercury’s spirit, for his performance that received a somewhat warm response from the audience.

We chatted with Benson earlier this week and then we teased a “big weekend” at Coachella after asking what he had planned.
Not what many were expecting…but the claim that Boone didn’t have one performance is thinner than Brian May’s cardboard.
