Billy McFarland Fire Festival 2 is happening… I got a receipt to prove it

Billy McFarland and the Fire Festival 2 team are sticking to the location of the event… Despite the government’s opposition claims, they claim they have worked closely with Playa del Carmen to ensure the festival occurs.
This is the deal… Earlier this week, an official from Playa del Carmen, a small town just south of Cancun, Mexico, wrote a message in Spanish.

They also added, “… such an event of that name will not take place in our city.”
However, the Fire2 team fought back with a social media post detailing the interaction they say they had with local governments in the city… The two groups claim to have been working together since early March.

He also includes a series of screenshots showing alleged documents filed with the city…like what appears to be pre-authorized permission for the event. He also included alleged emails with city officials who are believed to be interested in hosting.

Notable… This is not the first city to refuse to be involved in Feelfest. McFarland originally announced that the festival will be held at Ira Mugeres, an island near Cancun. However, just as Billy said the organizers began working with Playa del Carmen, an Isla Mugeres official denied the allegations.

We spoke with Billy in February. Billy ensured that the event was massive and he committed to making sure this sequel to the Trainreck OG Fyre Festival would be much smoother.
We reached out to the officials of Billy and Playa del Carmen… so far, there are no words.
