One of the most prominent players available on the second day of Free Agency, Center Pius Suter is currently a member of the St. Louis Blues.
Suter signed a two-year contract worth $4,125 million each year on Wednesday after a strongest season in his career. After scoring 28 goals and 51 points over two seasons, Suter broke out with 25 goals and 46 points in his final season with the Vancouver Canucks in 2024-25.
The star was one of the most sought after players in the market when it opened Tuesday as several pending unlimited free agents, including Sam Bennett, Brock Boser, Brad Merchand and Brock Nelson, decided to stay with the team. His contract with Bruce is one more ahead of the board as the biggest available name, Nikolaji Ehlers, remains undecided about his future.

It’s also the latest move for blues teams who are trying to take their next step after returning to the postseason at the exit of the first round.
Blues general manager Doug Armstrong said in June that veteran defensive man Tory Krug will not play next season while continuing to recover from offseason ankle surgery, which missed the entire 2024-25 campaign.
The Blues, who scored seven forwards, scored over 18 goals and traded one of those forwards with the aim of moving Zac Borduc to the Montreal Canadian in exchange for defender Logan Mayuyeu to bolster their top six defensive set up.
Armstrong was hoping to use it on Monday to sign a two-year contract with lower six centre Nick Bugstad, hoping to be able to act as a third centre.
However, with Suter’s addition, Bruce may have one of the most powerful center dynamics in the NHL from top to bottom, with Robert Thomas and Captain Braydenshen taking on star in the top six, third line and potentially Bujagstad in the fourth line.
