Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that his future at Real Madrid is questionable, claiming that his time will be “tomorrow,” but that he will always be grateful to the club.
Madrid saw the shadow of a team that won the competition in two of the last three seasons, and was knocked out 5-1 from the Champions League quarterfinals by Arsenal.
Ancelotti’s team is four points behind Barcelona in Lariga, with seven games remaining.
Ancelotti’s contract at the Bernabeu will run until 2026.

When asked about his long-term future as a boss for Real Madrid, Ancelotti said: “Next year, my contract will end next year… there’s no problem with that. But when I finish here, I’ll thank this club. I’ll thank this club tomorrow, a year or ten years from now.

“We did very well last season, but this year we had to struggle.
“Arsenal was better than us. We tried our best. Perhaps the penalty that was overturned was a turning point. That might have changed that.
“But Arsenal defended very well. We found it difficult to find space. We were better than usual on the strength level, but that wasn’t enough.”

Brazil’s “hope” to appoint Ancelotti
It is understood that Brazil is looking forward to appointing Ancelotti as new head coach.
Sources told Sky Sports News’ Amal Meta that prominent Brazilian businessman Diego Fernandez was trying to mediate a potential deal.
Fernandez is understood to have connections with Ancelotti’s team and the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF).
Though he is not officially affiliated with CBF, Fernandez is said to be in close contact with the 65-year-old, and his involvement has been described by sources as “very strategic” as part of CBF’s attempt to bring Italians to Brazil.
However, it is understood that there is a growing growing concern within Brazilian camps to make appointments, and the national team will not remain without a head coach until August.
Their next game will face Paraguay and Ecuador at the 2026 World Cup, since sacking Dorival Junior after a 4-1 loss to Argentina in March, with Brazil without a manager.
Ankelotti’s current contract with Real Madrid ends in June 2026, with Real linking with former Real player Xabi Alonso, manager of Bayer Leverkusen.
Ancelotti has been widely reported to be the Brazilian national team’s goal since Copa America last year. They are also reportedly interested in Jorge Jesus, the current manager of Al Hilal, the Saudi Arabian Professional League.
