Real and Barcelona are fighting it for the domestic double. Ancelotti’s team is sitting four points behind Barca in the league in seven games.
The pair will meet at El Clasico on May 11th, but the Italians are not expected to participate in the match in Barcelona.
Brazil wants to appoint the former Everton boss as new head coach, and it is possible that he will be installed in the role before the end of the Spanish domestic campaign.

“But if I finish here, I would like to thank this club. It could be tomorrow, 10 days, a month, or a year, but if the contract ends or doesn’t finish, I really don’t care.
“We managed Brightside many times and won the title, but we also need to manage the Darkside. In two games, Arsenal is better than us, so we need to accept that.”
Ancelotti rejoined Real in the summer of 2021, winning 11 trophies in his second replies, including two Lariga titles, two Champion Leagues and the Club World Cup.
Can Alonso or Klopp replace Ancelotti?
Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon speaks to Sky Sports News:
“Of course there are a lot of names like Xabi Alonso, who played for Real Madrid.
“But I hope the President decides to keep Ancelotti. I don’t know if he’s willing to stay. This bench is extremely difficult for a coach. Winning can’t always do that.
“They’re talking about Xabi Alonso, and he’s still with Leverkusen. I think he’s extended his contract so it’s not easy to get him.”

It is understood that Brazil is looking forward to appointing Ancelotti as new head coach.
Sources told Sky Sports News that prominent Brazilian businessman Diego Fernandez was trying to mediate the transaction.
Fernandez is understood to have connections with Ancelotti’s team and the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF).
Though it is not officially affiliated with CBF, Fernandez is said to be in close contact with the former signal boss, and his involvement is described as “very strategic” as part of CBF’s attempt to bring Italians to Brazil.
However, within Brazilian camps, there are times when appointments are run out, and it is understood that the national team cannot afford to stay without a head coach until August.
Their next game will face Paraguay and Ecuador at the 2026 World Cup, since sacking Dorival Junior after a 4-1 loss to Argentina in March, with Brazil without a manager.
Ancelotti has been widely reported to be the Brazilian national team’s goal since Copa America last year. They are also reportedly interested in Jorge Jesus, manager of Al Hilal, the Saudi Arabian Professional League.
CBF was contacted by Sky Sports News.
