Grand National Runner Celebredaren passed away following Saturday’s race at Eintree.
The oldest 13-year-old horse of the 34 runners was pulled up after the final fence and collapsed on the truck.
After treatment on the course, Molt was walked to the horse’s ambulance and taken to the stables at the racecourse for further evaluation.
However, after initially showing signs of recovery, his condition “has become significantly worse” and died Tuesday.
Jockey Michael Nolan, Celebré Darren rider, was handed a 10-day suspension on Saturday after Eintree Steward ruled that “continued in a race where the horse appeared to have not given and apparently lost the ground after the second fence.”
BBC Sports is said to not face any further punishment from the UK Horse Racing Agency (BHA).
The BHA has shown that denouncement of the jockey for the horse’s death is pure speculation and potentially reckless.
Celebré da Allen was a 125-1 shot at the National, acquired by Nick Rockett’s Jockey Patrick Mullins.
It was also announced on Tuesday that Mullins was given an eight-day ban after his ride was introduced to the Whip Review Board.
The 35-year-old amateur jockey violated the whip rules during the race, using the whip eight times after the final fence with a jump-lace limit of 7.
He will be suspended for eight days, including April 23rd and 25th.
