The lawyer says that around 20 legal claims for historical abuse at the Celtic Boys Club have been resolved in a seven-figure total.
Approximately 30 survivors allegedly sexually abused while playing for boys clubs in the 70s, 80s and 90s have launched legal action under new Scottish law.
Thompson’s lawyers said 70% of these cases have now been resolved and more settlements are expected in the “next weeks.”
Celtic – previously said that boys clubs are not responsible because they are different – last year they showed they were trying to solve the case.
Many senior members of the juvenile club, which had not formally affiliated with Celtic, have been convicted in recent years of sexual offences against teenage players over decades. Celtic previously said they were “appearing to all forms of historical abuse.”
“Justice has finally been achieved.”

In a statement, Thompson’s lawyers said they have “fighted on behalf of their clients for almost ten years,” and believed that “justice was ultimately achieved.”
Thompson’s lawyer, Laura Connor, said:
“This lawsuit has been much more complicated and lengthy by defenders, but our clients have acted with decisive dignity throughout.
“At last time they’re successful and can take this compensation to ensure that the Celtic Boys Club is indeed closely related to the Celtic Football Club.”
