Connor Ben demanded a small ring for Saturday’s showdown with Chris Eubank Jr. to secure “tears.”
They will fight on Saturday, fighting live live at the Ring Magazine event at Sky Sports Box Office, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and follow in the footsteps of their famous fathers, Nigel Ben and Chris Eubank SR.
Ben demanded an 18-foot ring for this fight, smaller than standard and got it.
“Only on the contract I wanted was an 18-foot ring,” Ben revealed to Sky Sports.
It suggests that he expects Eubank to move his feet, and he wants to cut off space to lock his opponent in, forcing him to swap toe and toe.

“It’s going to be a nice little ring to shed tears,” Ben promoter Eddie Hearn told Sky Sports. “That might suit Eubank.
“He might decide to get up and have a firefight.”
However, Hahn added:
“That’s what I think gives the Eubank fit, it’s Connor’s move, it’s how he gets in.
Nigel Ben gives more insight into Connor Ben’s sparring and why he thinks his son will win the first four rounds.
“That’s scary,” the promoter continued. “Stalked on ropes, booms, booms, booms, that’s the speed.
“There are very few fighters as sharp as Connor Ben in those battles.
“Connor tries to finish the fight in the first round, so he is very exciting.
“Eubank is not one of the fighters that starts quickly from the gate. Watching Liam Smith’s battle, it’s a cracked example.
“If he decides to stand and trade, it’s either way, it’s going to end in three rounds. It’ll be the Hagler Hearns of England, and that’s what will happen.”
In 2013, Nigelben joined “Ringside” and predicted the big things in a very young Connorben, with Johnny Nelson potential Ben vs. Chris Eubank Jr. shooting the line.
Connor Ben and Chris Eubank Jr. completed their public training on Wednesday.
They both showed padwork, but didn’t reveal much of their hands before Saturday’s fight. Ben still looked agile when he closed trainer Tony Sims, turning his upper body from one side to the other as his padman leaned against the rope and drilled with a punch.
While there may be growing speculation about how Eubank will cut weight at the middleweight division, he still throws clusters of punches, works his body belt and gives a glimpse of the uppercut.
But Eubank’s public display gave little clue as to whether he was boxed and moving, or if he was going to stand and fight.

Ben is a welterweight who moves up two divisions, but his promoter, Hearn, is sure his fighters can handle this disparity in the size of the fight.
“I don’t know that Connor Ben is ready. If you’re listening to Nigel Ben, there’s no way Connor loses on Saturday. I think it’s a very competitive battle, but I really believe Connor Ben will stop him in six rounds,” Hearn said.
The promoter added: “Pound of pounds, it’s not even close. This battle. But it’s a 50-50 battle. That’s the problem with this battle. But we accept the problem. We trained for the problem and overcame the problem on Saturday.”
Matthew McClin will evaluate where Chris Eubank Jr. and Connor Ben’s fight can win when they finally meet in the ring on Saturday.
Beating Euvan, the generation after his father last fought, will be a sporting moment for Ben to beat Ubank.
“I’ve been sitting with Nigel before and he lives it through Connor. He says he’s walking with my boy on Saturday. They’re going to do a ring walk with the whole team.
“There’s a difference between what you want to win and what you do to win. That’s what Connor Ben does on Saturday – anything to win this fight.”
Chris Eubank vs Conor Benn will be performing live at Sky Sports Box Office on Saturday, April 26th. Book now!
