Bystander Connor Brown, who was sidelined due to a private injury, will practice on Sunday and become available when the Oilers host the Florida Panthers in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup final on Wednesday.
Brown, 31, held the final two games of the Oilers’ five-game series against the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Finals that ended Thursday. He finished Game 3 in the second season on May 25th.
“It feels good,” Brown said after Sunday’s session. “It’s good to practice with the team. Obviously, I don’t practice much. It’s good to go ahead with that. I’m excited.”

Brown has eight points (5 goals, three assists) in 14 playoff games. He received a total of 30 points (13 goals, 17 assists) and a plus nine rating while playing in all 82 games during the regular season.
His spot in the third line is filled by right wing Viktor Arvidsson, by central Adam Henrique and left wing Evander Kane. The Oilers don’t have Zach Heyman in front of them who underwent surgery after suffering an upper body injury to the star in Game 4.
“I don’t know what the line combination is,” said Brown, who skated on the fifth line on Sunday. “Obviously, I’m not trying to wear a coaching hat or do anything like that. It’s my job to be ready to go.”
