Eddie Howe says “OK” is “not 100%” as he returns to manage Newcastle United after staying in hospital with pneumonia.
The 47-year-old was admitted to the hospital on April 11th, feeling sick for several days and missed three magpie matches.
On Thursday, the club announced that it would be enough for him to return to work.
“I’ve been through a variety of emotions, but I feel like I’m on the path to recovery,” Howe said Friday.
“I’m not 100% to my body, but I like to think I’m close to 100% in my mind. This is the most important thing.”
Newcastle, fifth in the Premier League, will face Ipswich from St. James Park on Saturday.
Howe recalls how difficult it is to be in the period of illness, but he says, “I get positive from all experiences.”
He added: You take [your health] The obvious thing – I certainly have – and when you don’t have the luxury of normal feelings, it can be very difficult. ”
Assistant manager Jason Tindall and fellow coach Graeme Jones oversaw two wins and one loss in the Premier League in the absence of Howe.
The Newcastle boss said he was involved in “Zero” in the game while he was away.
“I made a conscious decision when I wasn’t feeling bad enough to focus on football to give Jason and all my coaches all the responsibility,” he said.
“For me, you’re going to come out all of it or you couldn’t contribute. So I said to Jason first, ‘It’s finished with you.’
Howe said he saw the victory over Manchester United and Crystal Palace and the defeat of Aston Villa. “In the beginning, I wasn’t really there mentally,” he said.
