Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, reaffirmed Egypt’s constitutional and legal commitment to protecting the rights of people with disabilities.
In a speech at the World Disability Summit in Berlin, Morsi said Egyptian Law No. 10 of 2018 ensures full inclusion and equal opportunities in education, healthcare, employment and political participation.
She shed light on many national initiatives, including the “Ta’heel” digital platform for training and employment services and the issuance of over 1.5 million integrated service cards.
The minister also pointed to community outreach programs that include Egypt’s comprehensive education project, partnerships with the central bank for financial inclusion, and “digital and decent living” aimed at empowering people with disabilities in underserved areas.
Regarding local conflicts, Morsi said Egypt would prioritize the care of disabled war detractors from Gaza and provide comprehensive medical and rehabilitation support, including prosthetics and mental and psychological health services.
She highlighted Egypt’s humanitarian stance and concluded by citing President Abdel Fatta El-Sisi.
