Eric and Lyle Menendez seek a new sentence in court and get their day to presumably win their freedom… A fierce battle with La County Da ended with a judge ruled in the favor of his brothers.
The Menendez brothers appeared remotely in LA County court on Friday, and Danathan Hochman and his prosecutors team filed their case with a judge over the petition filed by former Da George Gascon, which was a petition filed by the newly elected Hochman, against Eric and Lyle.
The brothers wear prison blues, but were seen on video screens in court and visibly reacted as they repeatedly stated that the prosecutors hadn’t changed since their convictions… because they refused to admit that they claimed they had bought a gun because they were afraid of their own life.
There was a moment when Eric and Lyle looked at each other and shook their heads in disgust.

Hochman’s team also said they thought they would accept the brothers and win the votes only by petitioning that Eric and Lyle had resented because they were lying down in double digits on the vote.
Eric and Lyle’s lawyer, Mark Jelagos, groaned in a prosecutor’s presentation that lasted more than two and a half hours, tore them apart to present “SNL skits” that only spoke about the ’80s and ’90s, and ignored everything the Menendez brothers had achieved over the 30 years since.

As Jelagos turned, he focused on Eric and Lyle’s efforts to rehabilitate while in prison. He told the judge about enforcing corrections officers who say they welcome Lyle to live in his neighborhood, and another man in prison celebrating his brothers’ outdoor areas with murals and trees to improve the lives of prisoners.
When it was all said and completed, the judge denied Hochman’s claim to dismiss the petition of restinsing. This means that the brothers and Jelagos will return to the judge next week to seek a new sentence.
Outside the court, Geragos could be called a Friday hearing, perhaps Eric and Lyle’s “the biggest day since they were taken into custody.”
He also warned the DA’s office that he showed them photos of the gory crime scene without warning Menendez’s family, who were in court to help Eric and Lyle.

Before the hearing began on Friday… Cooper Koch, who played Eric in Ryan Murphy’s Netflix series “Monster: The Tale of Lyle and Eric Menendez,” walked to court with his boyfriend… Eric’s wife, Tami Menendez, was with Eric’s adoptive daughter Talia.
So now the resting has dropped on April 17th and Jelagos knows he is going to ask the judge to change their beliefs… from first-degree murder to manslaughter. If that happens, the brother could soon be released from prison. Because they already offer more than the greatest amount of California manslaughter charges.
But even if the judge didn’t… Gov. Gavin Newsom has already sent the Menendez case to the Parole Board. This will review the brothers’ case on June 13th to determine whether they have been repaired and whether it is no longer a danger to society.

Next week’s rescue will undoubtedly attract many supporters and detractors of the Menendez brothers. Does the guitar sling bass car freestyle folk songs about the case? Yes, it happened.
