It’s really nice to see the NFL finally reaching its age and replacing chains with the latest technology. Take one step closer to the laser goal post.
Kyle, of Raleigh, North Carolina, raised the Olympic rugby goal post when the ball was kicked upright. I had zero time to watch the Olympics, but now I might have to ride a scrum.
What do you think about white helmets?
I like them as changeups, but once a year it’s fine. I’m even more intrigued to see if Rambo fans can really pull off the whiteout that day. That requires a lot of green jerseys left in the closet.
I watched an interview with Jordynelson at training camp with the NFL Network. Geordy looks ageless and he wears a suit today and still looks related!
I say the same thing about Geordy every time I see him. He still looks like he can play.

Who is the strange guy at this training camp roster receiver?
It’s too early to say, but if it’s a sign from last year, receivers who start their practice team season very well could potentially contribute to the game by the end of the year.
This defense sounds like it might be better than this season, but so far there’s a positive out there. thought?
I hope I will feel better about defense as the season progresses. However, we will not know until the game starts and adjustments are made. A counter punch is then thrown, followed by a counter to the counter punch. You get ideas.
I can’t remember which defensive coach said that, but the point of it was that the only important stats were the allowed points. I’m a baseball guy, I’m involved from a pitcher’s perspective. How many runs do you actually give up every nine innings? We all loved a nicely pitched game, so we loved snappy defense that abandoned less than 275 yards in just a game. But in the end, is there a problem? Are there any points of defense that are not the only thing, but to deny as many points as possible to give its best chance?
Of course, the bullpen has overall numbers, but can abandon too many of its eighth and ninth rallies of its immediate family. Defenses should be performed at crunch time. Otherwise the rest is less important.

Why is Rashan Gary taking over all the top 10 lists as a pass rush?
Perhaps because he never made the Pro Bowl because he didn’t have a double-digit bag season. I’m not saying that’s correct, but those must be a reason. He was in the middle of doing both in 22 years before a knee injury.
Which opposing team do you think is the most difficult this season?
Well, the Packers will play against the six teams that made the playoffs last season, so there are plenty to choose from. Personally, I think the Packers-Lions showdown will be two biggest games, not just the team itself, but the entire league.
What was your favorite home opener?
Here are too many good games in my time to choose just one. The Eagles were the Bears in ’07 and ’09, the Saints of the 11′, the Jets in ’14, the Seahawks in ’17, the Bears in ’18, and the Saints last year. Everything was charming.

Regarding football “moneyball” statistics, we submit that positive turnover is the statistics closest to the base percentage. Not all players are responsible for handling football on the offense, so it’s not a perfect one-on-one, but extra possessions are a major factor in their success. This made me think about comparing turnover rates for Favre/Rodgers. Was Fabre an outlier even during turnovers? When did the focus be on protecting football changes when there are few outliers?
It’s an interesting question and is hard to identify, but there are statistical signs that it started to change during Favre’s prime. This isn’t the final analysis of all, but Favre’s first MVP year of ’95 saw less five QBs with double-digit start and double-digit interceptions (Aikman, O’Donnell, Harbaugh, Brunell, Hostetler). He only had three MVP years in his second year in ’96 (Marino, Collins, Young). By the third year of ’97, the number had jumped to nine over the past two years (George, Brunel, Young, O’Donnell, Chandler, Blake, Harbaugh, GRBAC, Cannell). I don’t think it was necessarily the same as it is now, but perhaps the worm was starting to spin.
