Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa were placed to rest at a private memorial ceremony after being billed several weeks after their bodies were claimed more than a month after their death in New Mexico.
People reported on Tuesday that a funeral was recently held for the couple, with family and close friends attending the memorial. As reported by TMZ… As of March 27, the couple’s bodies were not formally claimed, according to the New Mexico office of medical investigators.
Hackman’s three children – Christopher, Elizabeth and Leslie reportedly attended a recent private Santa Fe event.

TMZ reported earlier today, with new reports showing that Betsy searched online for symptoms of COVID. A few days before she died… genes had experienced flu-like symptoms.
Why their bodies weren’t officially claimed for so long… Officials told us that it’s not uncommon for their bodies to remain unclaimed for a month after their death, especially if the family still had a funeral.
Jean’s daughters spoke in the media after her father’s death.
Hackman spoke about his tough relationship with his children and admitted that when Chris was growing up he wasn’t very present, but he approached them in his later years.
The bodies of Jean and Betsy were found at their Santa Fe home on February 26th… and one of their dogs was also found dead nearby.
Betsy passed away from the Hantavirus on February 12th… his gene died of heart disease and advanced Alzheimer’s disease on February 17th or 18th.
