Jean Hackman’s house is not a tough sell… Despite his death, rodents

Gene Hackman’s New Mexico real estate doesn’t have a hard time selling despite some tough circumstances… at least according to real estate agents in the area.
Jean, his wife Betsie Arakawa, and one of the dogs, were found dead in their remote Santa Fe property earlier this year, where the nest of dead rodents and rats was invaded… but the real estate agent says neither instance should be a deal breaker when it’s time for the property to hit the open market.
Ken Martinez of Keller Williams Realty, Jer Collins of Exp Realty and Shak Bani of Santa Fe Properties all agreed… rodent issues have been wiped out and remote areas of the home become a big selling point.
New Mexico real estate agents don’t need to reveal that Jean and Betsy died at home when they showed it to potential buyers… but the person we spoke to didn’t think the fact that the actor and his wife were found dead in the house was a big deal anyway.

Collins even said news reports and public interest in Gene’s death could intriguate some people with the purchase.
It is said that the standard is that local homes must deal with pests and rodents…and the next owner is said to be able to do a better job of prevention.
Ken Martinez said it was a beautiful home in a great neighborhood and he would be happy to take the list if the opportunity arises.

To be clear, Gene’s houses will not be sold immediately… but it’s interesting to know that there will be a market when the time comes.
