Gene Hackman’s stepmother is fighting to stop police body camera footage from an investigation into the death of the late actor.
Jean and his wife, Betsie Arakawa, died last month at a New Mexico estate, and Betsie’s mother, Yoshi Feaster, is traumatized by the public sights and media coverage surrounding their deaths, and she wants to grieve for peace.
In legal documents obtained by TMZ, Betsy’s mother considers personal privacy to Jean and her daughter’s personal privacy the most important and says the media doesn’t want to get photos and videos showing Jean and Betsy’s living space and their bodies.
One of Jean and Betsy’s dogs is also found dead at home…and Yoshi doesn’t want the dog’s body to be shown in the lump.

Betsy’s mother claims she has “a constitutional right to avoid looking at images of her daughter’s house, her body, her husband’s body and her dog’s body.”
This will be a fight… CBS and the Associated Press have been granted allegations to intervene, and it is likely that the media will argue why they should be allowed to watch the footage.

Officers previously released body cams from officers who responded to the scene…but the video only included footage shot outside the house, including conversations between the groundkeeper and one of Jean’s children.
