Minority leader Alexander Afeño Malkin conspired with the Koforidua High Court to condemn the government and harassed Akwatia’s MP Ernest Yo Kumi.
The charge comes after the explanation of an attempt to arrest Kumi after the Home Minister Mohamed Mubarak Muntaka, after a bench warrant arrested on cont charges.
Afeño Malkin expressed disappointment at the justification of the minister, saying, “It is obviously a conspiracy between the government and the Cofolidua of the High Court to use their own set of laws in our country.”
At a press conference at the Capitol in Accra, the minority leader on Wednesday emphasized that the government’s actions were not in line with national laws and highlighted appropriate procedures for enforcing court orders.

“If there is a court order, the registrar should assign enforcement officers to the purpose of enforcing the order,” explained Afeño Malkin.
“This was a situation where the Supreme Court had already frozen enforcement of the order,” he added.
The minority leader spoke of Kumi’s harassment by national security operatives, claiming that “they are armed with pickup vehicles and in fact they actually try to pull a pistol on the MP, threaten him and push him into the pickup.”
He also announced plans to submit questions to the Attorney General to address alleged conspiracy between the judiciary and the national security coordinator.
