LAS VEGAS – Thomas Hartle, who leads the Golden Knights with 31 goals, will not be taking part in Vegas’ three-game road trip this week after being injured in a 4-2 victory at the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday.
Golden Knights general manager Kelly McCrimon broke the news on Monday on a VGK Insider show.
Vegas will visit Minnesota on Tuesday night, closing its Chicago trip on Friday and closing its store in Nashville on Saturday.
“He’s going to complete the test,” McCrimon said. “I think he’s done again today and tomorrow to determine exactly what we’re dealing with, but he’s going to miss this trip.”

HERTL has scored four goals in the last two matches. This includes a hat-trick in Saturday’s 6-3 victory over the Detroit Red Wings. He has two hat tricks in the last eight games, with a total of seven goals and three assists over that period.
His 59 points are third in the team behind Jack Eychelle’s single-season club record 87 and Mark Stone’s 61.
Hertl’s injury comes as the Golden Knights, who have won three games in a row, try to secure a Pacific Division title. It has 92 points more than both Edmonton and Los Angeles.
The injury occurred when Lightning defensive man Emile Lielberg pushed him onto the board and scored a two-minute penalty for boarding rather than a five-minute major.
“The man is playing [Lilleberg] Golden Knights manager Bruce Cassidy said after the game. “He’s trying to establish himself in the league. It’s a pointless blow to me, in a situation like when a guy is in a vulnerable position and not a threat.”
