Hotel occupancy in Barcelona continues to be on a downward trend since the first quarter of 2025, which began eight months ago in July 2025.
Monthly data published Thursday by the Barcelona Hotels Guild shows that the trend continues after an average hotel occupancy of 62.8% in January, 1.25% lower than last year’s simultaneous, 74.2% in February and a 5.5% decline compared to 2024.
Also, forecasts for March show that the trend will continue as hotel bookings decrease.
Compared to last year, the average price also fell by 6.2 euros.

The guild believes the situation will continue until April as Easter Week reservations have not exceeded the past few years. Therefore, they do not expect the holidays to mark a turning point.
However, organizations are looking for solutions to help solutions to end trends. This is “comes for the speech and actions of the city’s image, fame and competitive hate as a destination,” reads the shared statement.
They are urging authorities to “restore strict and positive speeches on city tourism activities.”
The administration must “have to make brave decisions that will allow Barcelona to continue to improve as an international destination, remain competitive and promote the cities that acted.”
In early July, thousands of people took them to the streets of Barcelona to protest mass tourism and sought “limitations” from the industry. At the rally, some demonstrators fired water guns at visitors dined at the restaurant.
