Iman Shumpert has asserted that he has never leaked any kind of information to the public about his troublesome divorce from Teyana Taylor.
Former NBA star lawyer Stephen C. Steele said in a statement to TMZ Sports on Wednesday that Shumpert has recently vehemently denied Taylor’s claim that he dropped the nuggets on media members to raise interest in his new rap music.
“My client, Iman Shamppert, has never leaked any claims or claims stated in any of the Taylor/Shampert divorce cases,” Steele said. “Mr. Champatt is adamant that he has provided information to any media.”
“Specifically, but without limitation, he denied leaking information that could have served as the basis for multiple news reports prior to the exam for this issue.”
Taylor argued the exact opposite in court documents on Tuesday… accusing Shumpert of playing a role in new media reports that he said he mischaracterized how their divorce ended.
Taylor was so peeked out by it that she actually asked the judge in their case to throw Shunpert behind the bar for 20 days – and hit him with a fine to teach him a lesson.
However, Steele repeated several times in his statement that Shumpert did not commit any wrongdoing.
“As agreed by the parties and ordered by the court, he has not done so and will not disclose the contents of the files that are currently sealed,” Steele said.
Steele added that Shumpert vows to “continue to comply with the court order sealing the details of this divorce.”
“He has no interest in discussing either of these personal and personal details with media or parties that are not directly involved in this case.”
Shumpert and Taylor met in 2011 and began dating in 2013. They got engaged in 2015 and tied the knot a year later. She eventually filed for divorce in January 2023.
