The NBA has told them some punishments in connection with the Pistons vs. Timberwolves brawl on Sunday… Detroit big name Isaiah Stewart got the toughest penalty.
NBA executive VP and basketball director Joe Dumars announced the results of the brawl on Tuesday… Stewart was banned from two games to “escalate an argument on the court,” adding a history of “non-sportsman-like behavior.”
A handful of one-game halts were also shelled out for Detroit’s Ron Holland and Marcus Sasser and Minnesota’s Naz Reid and Donte Divincenzo.
All bans are unpaid.
As previously reported, the whole incident was triggered after Reid stood up against the Netherlands on a defensive foul… which led to a squeezed match that was overflowing in the stands.
The association says they will punish them when Reid and Divincenzo travel to Denver on Tuesday to travel to Denver… and Stewart’s time begins on Wednesday with a Motor City contest with the Oak Thunder, with Sasser and the Netherlands also stopping matchups.
It’s not a great timing for either team… both teams are fighting for the best playoff seeds possible by the end of the regular season.
