Ja Morant makes it clear that his hand-ren-bun-style celebrations will remain here… telling reporters he has no plans to scrap it – before breaking it again on Thursday!
Morant spoke to his new explosive celebration during the team shootaround on Thursday, informing him that he shouldn’t expect to retire from throwing a hand-barrel until someone says something to him.
“It’s my celebration right now. I’ll find another person until someone else has a problem,” he told local reporters.
JA tracked his words with actions… and made the move late that night while the team was defeated by the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The 25-year-old chose the grenade celebration after being handed a $75,000 fine for his old movement… it was pretending to use a firearm.
“I wasn’t surprised,” he said in a penalty. “For the past two years, I’ve been showing people things that were pretty obvious.”
The league has yet to comment on Morant’s new celebration, but it’s hard to imagine him being excited to delve into the issue.
Kenny Smith and Charles Berkley respond to Ja Morant’s celebration of hand g-benefits.
“He has a history that people may need to leave celebrations where people may die alone.”
“I know that one person is happy right now. Taylor Jenkins doesn’t have to deal with this crap.” pic.twitter.com/5xblu1yntl

Memphis is taking action Friday night…and it’s clear that external noise won’t affect Morant and the way he celebrates on the court any time soon.
