Jude Bellingham said it was the second game against Arsenal, the second game of the Champions League quarterfinals on Wednesday. It is a “night made for Real Madrid” and supports the team to make a comeback “to history” at the Bernabeu.
Madrid is well known for his Champions League comeback, including his run to the 2022 final. It upsets the odds to eliminate Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City with the Bernabeu, but has never overturned a 3-0 first-leg loss.
The European champion was poor with the Emirates last week and collapsed after acknowledging three goals in the second half of 17 minutes, but speaking at a pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Bellingham said he was “confident” in Madrid’s creation of another comeback.
“I’ve heard it millions of times since last week,” Bellingham said. “It’s a night made for Real Madrid, a night falling into history…it’s a strange environment. [Losing 3-0] It’s one of the worst outcomes we can imagine, and for some reason everyone thinks we’re glued to coming back. It feels good in a way. ”
Jude Bellingham made his Champions League debut at the age of 17.
Bellingham joined Madrid in 2023 and has already been involved in his own memorable comeback, including last year’s semi-final, in which forward Josel scored two late goals in two minutes for Bayern Munich, winning the Champions League and Lariga Double in his debut season.
“Adding to this club’s history is something you want to be involved,” Bellingham said when asked about his prospects for another comeback against Arsenal. “There’s not much that’s been done with this club before. Tomorrow we’re looking to do something for the first time.”
“What we are confident in is the quality we have, the history of the club and the aura of the Bernabéu,” added Bellingham. “Even if we played as badly as possible, I think we felt that. [in the first leg]We still had a chance, a moment. If we were to level up and be more attentive, we would [the game]. ”

Madrid faced criticism of his performance over the past few weeks and played three matches without a victory. Before Saturday’s narrow 1-0 victory at Araves, there was a 2-1 defeat to Real Sociedaddo at Copa del Rey, and an Arsenal defeat.
“In some of the games this year, we definitely showed we can do something special,” Bellingham insisted. “I have to be confident in my team. It has nothing to do with history. It has to do with the youths I see every day in training.”
Coach Carlo Ancelotti said he “doesn’t think” that the outcome on Wednesday will determine his future as manager — amid speculation that the Italian could leave if Madrid didn’t land a major trophy, forward Killian Mbappe said he was “motivated” after his red card against Arave.
“He was hurt and disappointed,” Ancelotti said. “He trained well yesterday… we have to score goals. He scored a lot this season. He needs more goals tomorrow than ever.”
