Leonardo DiCaprio remembers Pope Francis… calling him a “transformational leader.”

Leonardo DiCaprio is a huge fan of the late Pope Francis, praised his work on environmental issues and recalled his story about the 2016 meeting.

The iconic actor took him to Instagram on Monday to post a message from Hartfelt. They can be seen gathering at the Vatican, showing two photos in one photo and waving.
Their meeting coincided with the release of a 2016 documentary about DiCaprio’s co-produced 2016 documentary, “Before the Flood.” As you know, Leo is a leading environmental activist.
In his IG post, Leo highlights the issue of climate change and calls Pope Francis a transformative leader not only for the Catholic Church but also for environmental reform and work.”
Leo continued… “[Francis] It demonstrated a deep, unwavering commitment to environmental management. Most notably, his groundbreaking 2015 Cyclical Laudato Si’. ”

DiCaprio was referring to a 2015 letter that Francis was mailed to churches around the world. This “served as a Clarion call for fundamental change in our relationship with the planet.”
Leo noted the Pope’s powerful efforts to ” unite individuals, communities, institutions and world leaders to care for our common homes.” DiCaprio also highlighted his 2016 meeting with Francis, saying that sitting with the Pope and discussing climate change was “enlightening” and “deeply moving.”
Leo enveloped it by describing Francis as “one of the most extraordinary spiritual leaders of our time.” And his “heritage continues to inspire generations of environmentalists around the world.”
You know, Francis passed away on Monday – the day of Easter – after suffering from a stroke and an irreversible cardiovascular arrest. He was 88 years old.
