EDMONTON, Alberta – Leon Draysight scored on a power play with overtime 18:18, and the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Los Angeles Kings 4-3 on Sunday night in Game 4 to mark the first-round playoff series.
After supporting Edmonton’s first three goals, Dryitel defeated goalkeeper Darcy Quenper after gathering the right puck from the scramble. The Oilers received a power play when defensive man Vladislav Gavlikov tripped over Conor McDavid.
Edmonton defender Evan Bouchard tied it with 29 seconds left, with goalkeeper Calvin Picard ousting the extra attacker out and hitting the queenpar with a straight slap shot from near the blue line.
Bouchard had his second straight two-goal game and pulled the Oilers within one card at 7:51 in the third, deflecting Kings defensive man Dhoty’s skate. Bouchard scored Goerd’s goal on Friday night in Edmonton’s 7-4 home victory.

“There’s a strong belief here,” McDavid said. “It’s a strong belief that we’re never out. People doubt us. We put ourselves in a bad place, but we’re working. We’re out.”
“That’s our identity here. We built it up a few years ago. That’s the way we have, and we’re not going to stop it no matter what,” Drysightle said. “The series so far have shown that there is probably a little too much, and we have to find a way to play with the lead.
“It shows a lot of characters and we can really be proud of it. But you don’t want to do it every night.”
Game 5 is Tuesday night in Los Angeles. The Kings have not won the Playoff Series since beating the New York Rangers in 2014 to win the Stanley Cup.
Corey Perry also scored for Edmonton, with Picard stopping 38 shots.
“That’s this team. There’s nothing easy about it,” Perry said. “But we keep fighting, we keep pushing, we find ways to tie the game together and we find ways to finish it with overtime.
Trevor Moore, Warren Foegele and Kevin Fiala scored for the king, while Kuemper made 44 saves.
“Of course, it’s painful, but it’s the playoffs,” Kings Forward Philip Danaw said. “It’s 2-2, it’s back evenly. Now we’re going home and playing hard, putting our minds on the line, anything can happen.”
Fiala went 3-1 on the breakaway at the second 7:32.
Moore opened up the score first with 9:25 left. He blocked a hard around along the right board, retrieved the puck from Philip Danaw, skated towards the goal and hit Picard with a wrist shot.
Foegele gave Los Angeles a 2-0 lead with a decisive rush at 1:31 in the second term. Perry reclaimed one for Edmonton on a 4:11 power play, batting the puck from the air just below the crossbar and swashed it when it fell.
“I want to get off to a better start,” said McDavid, who had two assists. I don’t have to continue digging myself from a 2, 3, 4 goal lead. But it’s good to show them what we can do. We are a difficult group to close out with the game. There are good players who play. ”
