It looks like slots will win the Premier League in his first season, but I actually wasn’t very confident about it, despite a lead at the top of the table for Liverpool until the results last weekend.
The team has been exhausted over the past few weeks, and one reason for this is lacking rotation.
The first half of the campaign felt like the team had far more trust. Since then, slots have almost returned to certain teams and they are beginning to look a little tired and much more vulnerable.
I certainly don’t criticise slots. Because it’s still unbelievable to do what he did with the team he inherited, but he feels he knows he needs to strengthen and will see the difference next season when he has the team depth he wants.
Even if Liverpool looked like its legs were stretched, the slot rarely sniffed to Elliot or Federico Chiesa in the midfield or before. He doesn’t trust them or feels they’re not suited to his system.
Same as Jarrel Quanza. He was on the bench against Fulham, but when Conate took off, Ryan Gravenbellch returned to center half instead.
Whatever the reason, I feel like I’ve been using this team this season to cross the line and wholesale occurs in the summer.
It makes it even more impressive what he did in such a short time, and can also handle three contractual issues at the same time, especially his biggest stars.
