Katie Boulter recovered from losing her first four games against Katerina Sircova to reach the second round of the Madrid Open.
Boulter was slaughtered at the first meeting in history, with Siniakova ranked 57th in the world and British No. 1, beating under 17th in the UK, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.
Siniakova made a quick fire double break to lead 4-0 before Boulter fought back to level the opening set.

The Czechs were once again bordered forward, and a double fault of the boulter gave her a set.
There was a quick controversy as Boulter was clearly serving for a long time 1-0, but the call didn’t come and there was confusion as both players spoke to the referee at length.
Senior Kova ultimately allowed her opponent to serve again, but was clearly affected by the incident as Boulter took a walk to her first victory in Madrid.

Lucia Bronzetti claimed an entry-level victory over the former world, beating Naomi Osaka 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.
Bronzetti was beaten in three sets in Osaka at last year’s French Open, and reached the two-year round in 2 hours and 21 minutes.
The 26-year-old Italian won the third time this year, with the former world number one victory.
Bronzetti defeated Simona Halep in Romania’s final career match between Cruigi Napoca and Victoria Azarenka at the Australian opening in January.
Meanwhile, Briton Fran Jones played in the main draw, defeating Spain’s Christina Bussa 7-6 (3), 3-6, 6-1.
