Eddie Lions JR (left) and Ross Monaghan were killed in a shooting at a bar in Fuengirola
A man who wanted in Spain about the murder of two senior members from a Scottish organized crime group in a Spanish bar has appeared in a British courtroom.
Michael Riley, 44, was charged by Spanish police in the murder of 43-year-old Ross Monaghan and Eddie Lyons JNR, 46, at Monaghans Bar, Fuengirola on May 31.
Mr. Riley appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court in London via a video link for HMP Wandsworth.
His full extradition hearing is scheduled to take place later this year.
Riley had not been charged and he had yet to have the opportunity to deal with allegations made about him by the Spanish National Police.
The man was watching the Champions League final at Monahans Bar
He spoke to him to confirm his name and date of birth during a short hearing.
Due to video link issues, Riley is expected to appear in court in person on Friday.
Riley was arrested by Merseyside police last Friday under an international arrest warrant issued by Spanish authorities.
The gun is clogged
After the shooting, Spanish police say the hitman’s gun was jammed after killing Lions JNR with a single shot outside the bar.
The gunman then chases Monaghan inside the venue and kills him with two more shots.
Both Lions JNR and Monaghan were connected to the Lions crime group based in western Scotland.
