Haley, wife of Matthew O’Cula, was planning on having a girl next… before the tragic death of birth

Matthew O’Cula says he and his wife Haley were so excited that they were parents that they had already planned to go through another round of IVF, and they chose the name of their second child before the influencer’s tragic death.
We spoke with Okula, a Los Angeles firefighter. In an interview about his wife on Friday, he is known as the nurse Haley online…and he says that another successful embryo the couple implants on a future date, this was blessed with a girl.
He and Haley say they chose which one to have first (boys or girls), and they wanted their little girls to have a guardian, so they eventually settled on the boys.
The girl’s name would be Oakley Anne Okula… It seems like a reference to the legendary Annie Oakley of Wild West.
Matthew says that Haley really wanted to be a mom… so many things, he actually turned down the chance to hold the crew.

Of course, Haley never really had the opportunity to see her child… because she died after suffering from amniotic embolism. This is a medical complication of childbirth that causes fluids surrounding the baby to enter the bloodstream of the carrier and damage multiple organs.
Matthew says he’s been holding a long time talking to Hailey in the hospital… so pleased that she’ll come back to him, they “can have this life we’ve spoken so much.”

The crew survived while Haley didn’t make it…and Matthew even hugged him during our chat – bringing the little man to rest while he emotionally talks about his late wife.
Okula’s friend has launched GoFundMe to support both Matthew and the baby crew in the wake of the loss…and Matthew says he plans to use the opportunity to bring awareness to amniotic embolism.
