Eric and Lyle Menendez say they have something to look forward to as they approach the possibility of release from prison, revealing how they have evolved over 35 years behind the bar.
The brothers will be the first time since 1990 – our new special, TMZ Presents: The Menendez Brothers: The Prison Interview, to show you why you are looking forward to the future.

Lyle says the word hope is new to them, and Eric says he is striving to become a better person every day and is finally beginning to like himself — but the key to them is whether the California parole board feels like it will no longer pose a risk to society.
The brothers go before the board meeting in June…but when we spoke to them, it was clear that they were already raising their hopes, as they taught me how they imagined their lives if they regained freedom.
CA Governor Gavin Newsom says the parole committee will complete the risk assessment after the June 13 hearing and send it to his desk. He will consider the findings when deciding whether to admit tolerance for Erik and Lyle.
The Menendez brothers also have another path to freedom… Newsom says risk assessments will also be sent to the judge for responsiveness.
