Namibia has experienced extensive rainfall over the past few weeks, with considerable downpours recorded in various regions.
Much needed rainfall affected by tropical cyclone juice provides some relief to both urban and remote areas, replenishing water sources, rejuvenating the landscape and flooding other parts as well.
According to recent data from various Gondwana Collection properties, the Windhock Head Office recorded an impressive 571mm rain. Etosha King Nehale received an average of 446mm and an average of 364mm from the Etosha Safari Camp & Lodge, and recorded an average of 643mm for the Zambezi Mubala Camp & Lodge area.
Kalahari, Namib and Canyon Park, waiting for rain, eventually saw their share. In some regions, Gondwana Canyon Park recorded a maximum of 28mm and Gondwana Kalahari Park recorded a maximum of 39mm, while Gondwana Nana Mibu Park saw a maximum of 35mm and a maximum of 35mm at Namibu Dune Camp.

Meanwhile, Hakusembe and Namushasha River Lodge registered 536mm and 525mm respectively, making a significant contribution to the overall improvement in water availability in these regions.
Recent heavy rains across Namibia have encouraged residents and travelers to be careful in areas that are prone to flooding. Avoid crossing flooded roads, rivers, or lowland areas as water levels can rise unexpectedly. Non-essential travel is discouraged to ensure safety and prevent unnecessary risks.
