Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to meet President Trump at the White House on Monday, according to White House officials.
Netanyahu will arrive in Washington after updating Israeli military campaign against Hamas in Gaza late last month.
A spokesman for Netanyahu did not respond to requests for comment. The Israeli Prime Minister was in Hungary on a state visit. There he met with the country’s leader, Victor Orban.
During Netanyahu’s final visit, Trump described Gaza’s vision, including the US acquisition from the enclave and a massive Palestinian exit. Netanyahu subsequently called for what was called voluntary immigration by Gazan, which critics accused as effectively a forced displacement.
Israeli forces have steadily attacked Gaza and have invaded the enclave since the war resumed in late March. Israel also banned entry into Gaza in apparent attempts to put pressure on Hamas, leading to fears that it would exacerbate the humanitarian crisis for Gaza civilians.
The Trump administration threw its weight behind Israel and denounced Hamas for his return to the fight. Hamas accused Israel of overturning a ceasefire in which Trump’s aides helped brokers.
