The NHL won the Ottawa Senators $25,000, with Nick Cousins fined $2,083.33 in the “sportsmanlike conduct” incident in the warm-up ahead of Game 3 of the team’s first round Stanley Cup Playoff Series with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday.
Cousins’ Fine is the largest allowed for players under the NHL/NHLPA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
While the warm-up was underway, Cousins was spotted flipping the puck across the central ice line of Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Sloral as he went through his pre-game routine.
