Nigeria has rebutted claims circulating online, claiming that Nigeria is on the list of countries facing a ban on entry into Saudi Arabia since April 13, 2025.

Nigeria, Jordan, Sudan, Iraq, Indonesia, Ethiopia and Bangladesh are also listed as restricted from applying for new short-term Saudi Arabida, including business, visits (single/multiple domestic), tourism and family visits.
The document added that citizens of listed countries will not be permitted to enter Saudi Arabia from the effective date, even if they have a valid visa.
“No compliance could ban you from joining the KSA for five years,” the statement said.
However, the federal government said: “To be clear, only restrictions apply to tourist visa holders during the Hadge season. Individuals holding tourist visas are not permitted to remain in Makkah between April 29th and June 11th, 2025.
“The Ministry urges its public to ignore misleading documents and constantly verify travel information from official sources before taking action.
“Spreading unverified information can cause unnecessary confusion and disrupt travel plans. For accurate and up-to-date information, travelers are encouraged to consult with the official Saudi government source, the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or accredited diplomatic channels.”
Saudi authorities have also officially denied the effectiveness of the virus memo.
