President Bora Tinubu has led an immediate and comprehensive overhaul of the national security strategy, calling for urgent action to end the escalating violence of Borno, Benu, Plateau and Kwara countries.
The president, who met with the security chief of Abuja’s state capitol for more than two hours, said the killing of innocent people in Borno, Benue and Plateau states must be stopped.
“Adequate is enough,” declared President Tinubu again denounced the pointless targeting of innocent Nigerians.
National Security Advisor (NSA) Neuf Ribadu told reporters that the service director had explained the security situation to the president.
The NSA said President Tinubu ordered a new approach to tackling the issue of anxiety.
Ribadu noted that President Tinubu was actively monitoring and giving directions during his work visits to Paris and London.
“The President gave us the opportunity to come and explain him again. It lasted a very long time. We gave him an update on what was going on.
“Even when he was there, he was always in touch, giving directions and following developments.
“Today we had the opportunity to brief him again, and it lasted for a few hours. It was a very detailed briefing and it was exhaustive.
“We listened and received instructions from him. He gave us new instructions. The fact is that the President claims we are working hard to restore the security of the country.
“We gave him information about what was going on and assure him of our commitment.

“We carried out his instructions and went to places where there were unstable incidents, such as Plateau, Benue and Borno.
“We went to those specific three states. He previously instructed us to go and meet with the political authorities, so we gave him feedback,” he added.
The NSA said it emphasized the need for more involvement in local councils and state governments as the president tackles the unstable incident.
“The problem of anxiety is often not just at a higher level. It involves subunits. They are people who are directly with people, especially those who are part of the challenges adjacent to community issues.
“We need to work with our community, we need to work with local governments, we need to work with the governor.
“The president has directed us to work more with the governor,” he said.
Ribadu noted at the meeting that the president is “very worried and worried.”
“He said, ‘It’s enough.’ We are committed to restoring peace and security. We were all present at meetings with the president, the military, the police and the intelligence news community. ”
The NSA said attackers are usually targeting innocent citizens by targeting innocent areas by planting improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
