Over 2 million candidates registered for computer-based exams this year, more than 1.94 million people had SATs in the exams held between April 24th and May 5th.
Candidates who sat on the 2025 unified 3rd Entrance Examination (UTME) can now see the results.
The Joint Admissions and Admissions Committee (JAMB) disclosed this in a notice shared with Premium Times on Friday.
UTME is the annual admissions examination for candidates seeking admission to universities, polytechnics and universities of education in Nigeria.
Over 2 million candidates have been registered for computer-based exams this year, with over 1.94 million registered for the exams held between April 24th and May 5th.
JAMB said that once a candidate sends a “result”, the results can be seen by sending a registration number to 55019 or 66019 via SMS.
Poor performance trend
In a statistical update released earlier by the board, JAMB revealed that around 78% of candidates scored 200 out of 400 available points.
A total of 24,535 candidates scored below 100 marks, while only 0.63% (12,421 candidates) scored over 300.
JAMB Registrar IS-Haq Oloyede, Professor, said the UTME results are in line with trends of about 10 years
Addressing public concerns about this year’s outcome, Oroyede explained that the outcomes were not uncommon, but rather in line with historical patterns of UTME outcomes.

Minors, absentees, and fraud cases
The judges said 40,247 minor candidates were allowed to participate in the exam as “exceptional candidates,” but only 467 or 1.16% of these candidates “meeted the UTME defined exceptional ability threshold and achieved scores that still pending performance in the three subsequent stages.”
Additionally, 71,701 candidates were not tested. The board also revealed that 2,185 candidates are investigating various violations, but 97 were established to engage in medical malpractice in the test.
Jamb added that results from medical malpractice or candidates still under investigation will be withheld as the conclusions of the review process are pending.
