Osun Governor Ademora Adeleke said about 42,000 students and students from both secondary and public primary schools received free correction glasses to support their academic pursuits.
Adeleke presented students with correctional glasses and drugs, and was known on Osogbo during the distribution of free medical devices to the state’s Osun State Health Insurance (OHIS) accredited government hospitals.
He explained that of 345,000 students and students, they reviewed eye problems statewide. More than 42,000 people identified with visual impairment explained that they were given necessary interventions, including orthodontic glasses, essential medications and, if necessary, surgical procedures.
The governor emphasized that his administration had just begun intervention with public schools as a pilot stage, and that good gestures were soon extended to private schools to ensure that children were not left behind.
Adereke, who has announced millions of Naira worth of medical devices for government health facilities accredited under the OSUN Health Insurance System (OHIS), added that it aims to ensure that all enrollees receive the highest standard of care.
He said: “Our administration remains determined in the revitalization of the health sector. To fulfill our promises, we have fully approved the training allowances of resident physicians, implementing a full mercy and contradictory pay structure for healthcare workers, ensuring that they receive their qualifications promptly.
“In just two years, 200 of the 332 focal primary health centres have modernised, with the rest soon following. To promote these efforts, the government has registered over 25,000 pensioners in the OSUN Health Insurance System for free, ensuring that seniors receive quality health care.
