OCP Africa, a subsidiary of OCP Nutricrops, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Zambia, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work together on a large-scale initiative aimed at accelerating the conversion of Zambia’s agricultural sector. This landmark agreement marks a new stage of collaboration to support farmer empowerment, promote sustainable practices and promote productivity through innovative and localized solutions.
Building on a shared vision to modernize agriculture and strengthen food security, the partnership reflects OCP Africa’s commitment to working with public institutions to build an inclusive agricultural system. The agreement outlines a strategic collaboration framework, addressing key development areas across the agricultural value chain and leveraging the potential to become a regional model of Zambia’s innovation-driven agriculture.
The initiative focuses on three core pillars that are essential for long-term agriculture success.
Farmer Capacity Building – Empower farmers through targeted training programs aimed at promoting best farming practices and increasing productivity. Soil Mapping and Fertilizer Customization – Use digital tools to better understand Zambian soils and develop customized fertilizer solutions to increase efficiency and crop yield. GIS-based Agricultural Platform – Develops a technology-driven platform to support smarter decision-making and more sustainable agricultural practices.
Together, these pillars allow the design of context-specific approaches that address the unique challenges faced by Zambian farmers, promoting resilience, efficiency and long-term value creation. By supporting knowledge transfer, data-driven solutions and science-based input customization, the project aims to lay the foundation for a more sustainable and competitive agricultural sector.
“We are pleased to announce that we are committed to providing a range of services and services to providing services that will help us to create a new and exciting new environment,” said Mohamed Hettiti, CEO of OCP Africa. “We are proud to work with the Ministry of Agriculture to collaborate on impactful, customized solutions that benefit farmers and promote inclusive growth.”
