Patrick Roy is head coach of New York Islanders and new general manager and executive vice president Matthew Dersch said at an introduction press conference Thursday.
Roy, 59, has a record of 55-47-17 since replacing Lane Lambert as coach on January 20, 2024.
Assistant coaches John McLean and Tommy Alberin will not return to the bench, Dersch said.
However, Dash was not complete there.

Asked about his interest in an interesting offer for the overall overall pick of the 2025 NHL Draft, Dasch quickly responded.
“Someone really has to knock my socks down,” he said.
New York landed the overall pick of the top of the upcoming draft earlier this month despite having the 10th best chance to win the lottery at 3.5%.
Dash, 48, has been director of the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey operations for the past six seasons. The Lightning qualified for the annual playoffs of that stretch, winning back-to-back Stanley Cup titles in 2020 and 2021 and appearing in the 2022 final.
Tab general manager and executive vice president Dasch replaced Lula Moriello, who left the islanders last month after seven seasons.
