Car burned amidst obstacles after PSG scored the biggest victory ever in the Champions League final
Hundreds of people have been arrested in Paris after a clash with police after Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) fans celebrated the club’s victory in the Champions League final.
Officers arrested about 300 people after a clash broke out near the city’s Champion Avenue and PSG’s Parc de Princess Stadium.
Flares and fireworks were caused, bus shelters were destroyed, and cars were torched amidst the wild celebrations.
Chaos comes after PSG won the biggest award in European club football for the first time in history.
The majority of the fans celebrated peacefully, with many songs and dances sung on the streets and sung the corners of the car.
The Eiffel Tower is illuminated by PSG’s blue and red colours, and French President Emmanuel Macron is an avid supporter of the Olympics des Marseilles, and was posted on X.
Approximately 5,400 policemen were deployed in Paris in anticipation of the noisy celebration.
Most of the nearly 300 people detained were suspected of owning fireworks and causing the damage, Paris police said.
“The Champion troublemaker was trying to create an incident and repeatedly contacted police by throwing large fireworks and other objects,” police said in a statement.

The footage shared on social media, which has not been verified by the BBC, appeared to show the crowd trying to break into several of Champion Ellie’s shops, such as Chanel and Footlockers.
Riot police reportedly used water cannons to stop the crowd from reaching Ark de Trifhunf and fired tear gas at the crowd.
Other clashes between the police and the crowd occurred on Pariling Road. At least two cars were torched near Parc Des Princes Stadium in PSG.
French Minister of Home Affairs Bruno Reciroe held a tough line against obstacles by writing on social media: “The true PSG supporters enjoy great matches for the team.
“On the other hand, the wild barmen committed crimes and took them to the streets of Paris to induce police.”

Meanwhile outside of Paris, police said a car was plowed to a PSG fan in Grenoble, southeastern France, causing four people to be injured.
They were all from the same family, police said. The two were seriously injured.
The driver handed over himself to the police and was arrested. A source close to the investigation told AFP News Agency that the driver is believed to be not acting intentionally.
The PSG team will host a victory parade with the championship release in Paris on Sunday, bringing together tens of thousands of supporters to give a glimpse of the returning team.
Macron’s office said it would congratulate them by hosting the winners on Sunday.
