st. Paul, Minnesota – Mark Andre Fleury left the NHL after 21 seasons online, eagerly eagerly to spend more family time and finishing his on-ice tribute while fully embracing that he’s not at his best at 40.
Okay, he’s not ready to call it completely if he stops it.
Fleury revealed on Monday in a season-ending interview in Minnesota that he agreed to join Team Canada for the World Ice Hockey Championship later this month. Fleury’s calendar is wide open as Wild was eliminated four days before the NHL playoffs.

“A little longer, I went home, my kids were crazy, I said, ‘Yeah, I have to keep playing,'” Fleury said jokingly.
After apologizing if he is not yet to announce his participation, Fleury said he is looking forward to reunion with his former Pittsburgh teammate, Sidney Crosby, who was the first celebrity addition to the Canadian team.
“Leave time together and actually scream at him a little and be honest with him,” Fleury said.
The tournament will be held in Stockholm, Sweden and Herring, Denmark, and will be held from Friday until May 25th. Hockey Canada announced on Sunday that Crosby will join the team that former Fleury coach Dean Evason coached alongside Columbus. The only goalkeeper previously announced was the New York Rangers outlook Dylangerland, but another regular NHL netminder is sure to be next.
Those who are deeply involved in the NHL playoffs will not be able to participate in the World Championships. Obviously, this is primarily why this will be Fleury’s first publication. He appeared in 170 postseason games, played for the Penguins and three Stanley Cup winners, reaching the fourth final with the Golden Knights.
Fleury played at the Team Canada Olympics in 2010 as the third stringer for Roberto Roongo and Martin Brodur.
