Rugby Football Union will slip into months of “Lancer and Confusion” if a rebel motion is made Thursday to expel Chief Executive Bill Sweeney Pass, interim chairman Bill Beaumont warned.
A group of clubs led by people from the second tier championship forced a referendum on Sweeney’s leadership.
They alleged that the organization has lost contact with the grassroots game, highlighting Sweeney’s salary. This was significantly increased thanks to wage increases and bonus schemes at the time of RFU’s record losses.
The RFU submitted a rival move. This promises to diversify decision-making and restructure the club’s local support and funding.
Former England captain Beaumont accused Sweeney of trying to run a campaign at times “a very unfortunate and misleading claim that is particularly misleading and misleading claims about the game’s finances.”
“All of this focuses on the Red Roses built for the Home World Cup, from the many great things happening in English rugby, from the incredible work of volunteers running grassroots games to the Strong Men’s Six Nations,” he added.
However, the entire Game Union, which coordinated the rebellion, blamed the turbulence against RFU executives.
“The rage and confusion in the game was only caused by listening and not wanting to listen to issues raised over the years by participants, member clubs and umpire society,” he said.
“Voting on this change is asking the board to remove CEOs through a controlled process.”
