British actor and comedian Russell Brand has not lost his audience after troubling accusations of his personal and professional life… and he is due to speak at a Florida university this Saturday after being charged with sexual assault in London, and after being accused of suspects’ actions in a film that appeared on stage in New York.
The brand is lined up to appear as guest speakers at New College in Sarasota as part of the Socrates Stage series.
New College confirmed to TMZ… The brand will speak at an event entitled “Thinking Without Permission: Conversations with Russell Brand on Free Speech, Censorship and Cultural Power.”
Other notable speakers in the series include President Donald Trump’s border emperor – and lawyer Tom Homan of Alan Delsitz.
Liberal Arts College has strengthened right-wing faculty and staff in recent years after Florida Governor Ron de Santis overhauled school leadership and steered sharply in a conservative direction.
Alexandra Nicole Islas, director of the school’s public policy events, told TMZ:
She continues…” This reflects the commitment to civic discourse and the belief that even challenging conversations deserve a room in a public square. The judicial system addresses other issues independently, but our responsibility is to have space to invite dialogue, particularly in culture and freedom of speech topics.

As you know… Last week, London Metropolitan Police announced that Brand had been hit by numerous charges, including one count of rape, one count of indecent assault, one oral rape and two sexual assaults.

Authorities said the charges stemming from the incident that allegedly occurred between 1999 and 2005 involving four different women were that the brand quickly denied all allegations in a video shared on social media, saying he had never engaged in “non-consensual activities.”
The brand is also offered in a civil sexual assault case in New York, arising from alleged actions on the set of the 2011 film “Arthur.” Warner Bros. announced this week that the company will release an outtake from the creation of the film.
The brand is scheduled to appear in the UK courts on May 2nd.
