Deputy Government spokesman Alan Moekalunda has passed away, the government’s spokesperson’s office said on Friday, April 4th. He was 55 years old.
Mukarianda succumbed to the complications of a heart attack while undergoing treatment at King Faisal Hospital.
The former national prosecutor, lawyer and musician has been a spokesperson for the deputy government since December 2021.
“The Rwandan government will extend the meaning of sincere pacity dol to his family, his loved ones and all those who praised him for working with him,” read a statement from the government’s spokesman’s office on Friday morning.
Mokalunda received his law degree in 1998 from the University of Catholic des Louvin in Belgium.
Born in Kigali in 1970, Muryurinda continued to study economics at Ecole Second Leader Delwa Magana (1984-1990) in eastern Rwanda. From 1991 to 1994 he was a legal candidate for the University of Belgium.
The man who held the position of national prosecutor and spokesman for the National Prosecutor’s Office had worked for the Rwandan prosecutor since at least 2002.
He is known for composing popular songs such as “Tsinda Batsinde.” This praised the national football teams Amavubi, “Gloria”, “Murekatete”, “Murekatete”, “Love Ballad, Alain Muku (as known in the music industry), and helped them detect and promote other musical talents.
